Pinetree Lodge Garden is a member of the West Cork Garden Trail established over 25 years ago.
Gardening is my passion since I was a child in my parents garden. In 1979 I bought the house here at this location on approx 1 acre of land, bordered with 8 old Fir trees and a beautiful Beech tree (which is gone now with Ophelia ☹) on the North side of the garden, and one mature Sycamore tree on the South side and brambles, nettles and weeds in between. The house and land had been derelict for over 25 years. The first spring we had daffodils coming up all over the land.
The land is about 120 meters above sea level and on top of a ridge with the land falling to the East and North.
Since then Harry and I have made many changes and it will continue to change and evolve!
The garden was featured in the Sky TV series “Show me your Garden” and is featured in Shirly Lanigans Book “The Open Gardens of Ireland”.
Best come and see for yourself.
